Now in yesterday’s bronze-medal match the Swedish side defeated England 2-1 in Nice. The Swedes went two-nil up in the first 20 minutes and then England pulled one back when Fran Kirby scored with a shot that went in off the post. This means that the ball hit the post first but then crossed the line into the net. Sometimes the ball will hit the post and bounce back out but on this occasion the goal stood as the ball had gone in off the post.
