What is the meaning of the phrase "get the ball out his feet" in this sentence?
2 mins: First blood West Ham as Aaron Cresswell gets the ball out his feet and delivers a pearler of a cross for SouÄek and Antonio to attack - as it is, Eric Dier has to head behind.
We're such a threat from set pieces these days...

To get the ball out of your feet means to move the ball slightly so that you have a better chance of passing or shooting more accurately. It usually means that a player has to slightly touch the ball a little more forward so the can strike it more cleanly. In this example, Cresswell gets the ball out of his feet so he can cross it better.
