What does "groove" mean in these sentences?
15 min: Werner grooves his way down the right and pulls back for Pulisic, racing in to meet the low cross, 12 yards out. He sidefoots towards the bottom right, but not particularly powerfully, and it's an easy claim for Fabians
City look to be finding their groove in the early stages after a decent start from the hosts, and are getting more and more touches on the ball.
44 mins: Another shout for a penalty!
We're getting into our groove now as Coufal scampers down the right hand side, receives the ball on the overlap from Soucek and pulls it back for Antonio to shoot.
To groove is another word for dancing so maybe in the first example Werner dances down the touchline? I think it means that he has shown quick feet/good skill to beat players on the wing (touchline).
The other two examples are linked together and mean that a team can find its rhythm; if City are finding their groove it means they are starting to play well - the same as the second example (West Ham are starting to play well)
