Ripper, crash it in, thunder it in

Hi everyone. What do the folliwing words?

Ripper
Crash it in
Thunder it in

- Alex Chamberlin has come up with a ripper
- Sane has crashed it it and City are level
- Sadio Mane haa thundered it in.

Hi Hyuna27,

Well, they all mean pretty much the same thing - a very powerful shot. One difference is that thunder and crash are both verbs, while a ripper, refers to the shot or goal and is a noun. Therefore, you could have 'The player thundered in a ripper!' - but this would be a little unusual!

Other verbs used to describe powerful shots are -
To smash the ball in/home
To hammer home
