What is the meaning of the phrases "skim a venomous"/"venom" in football?

45 mins: Spurs playing keepball at the minute, until they work it wide for Aurier, who skims a venomous shot from the right wide, and it took a deflection.

52min: Almost the perfect impact from the substitute Chilwell down the other end.

Lukaku shifted across to the right-hand side and played the ball into the air and down for Chilwell.

He thundered one towards goal on the volley, but the effort fizzed over the crossbar and away.

There was plenty of venom on that. Close.

Venom means poison but in these examples it refers to a really hard shot - it's describing a powerful shot on goal. A venomous strike.
