What does "wedge" mean here? 89 min: Krafth wedges a first-time long ball down the inside-right channel. He’s released Kulusevski! He brings the ball down, and aims for the bottom right ... only for Zabarnyi to stick out a telescopic leg and deflect out for a corner!

Hi Dwi,
This is a reference to golf - a wedge is a golf shot using a club called a wedge. It is shaped liked a triangle and you hit the ball at 45 degrees, meaning the ball is chipped up. So 'Krafth' wedges a long ball' means passes the ball by chipping it up high and down. In the next sentence you can read 'Kulusevski 'brings the ball down' - so we can see the ball was passed, wedged, in the air.
Cheers,
Damon
