Week 1: Making Predictions

This week's episode covers the language of making predictions. Here are some suggested classroom uses:

• • Vocabulary focus: Language for making predictions. Before starting, ask students to suggest different language for predicting football [I think this will happen; I reckon...; They should win easily]
  • Listening for gist: before revealing the transcript, ask students to note which teams/players are mentioned
  • Listening for details: Pick out one of the sections from the listening and create a gap fill activity - maybe around language of predictions?
  • Prediction language: Ask students to write their own prediction for the Newcastle v Liverpool game.
