Week 2 - Football expression: Punish a side

1. Vocabulary focus: To punish a side [What does 'to punish' mean? What does it mean in football? Can it be used in different football contexts? What is the difference between 'the referee punished the player' and 'the home side punished the opposition'?]
2. Listening for the main idea: Before showing the transcript, ask students to note what game is being focused on. How many times do they hear the word 'punish'? What words come before/after it?
3. Writing: Ask the students to practice writing some example sentences using the phrase, 'punish a team'
4. Discussion: Ask the students to find similar phrases in their own language and explain them to you and their classmates
