In a recent article in the Guardian newspaper, Rob Smyth asked ‘Who cares about the UEFA Cup?’ (see link below) Actually, Spurs do this season. Of course we would have preferred to have been in the Champions League but we have found our form thanks to this competition. Last night’s 3-1 victory against Bruges was the fourth of the competition and one more point from the remaining two games (Leverkusen and Bucaresti) will ensure qualification to the last 32.
Berbatov and Keane were the stars last night but it has been the recent return of Aaron Lennon to the team that has really sparked the eight-game unbeaten run. Can we make it nine after Sunday’s match with Chelsea? Now Spurs fans would really care about that!
