(a) Cracker
This word is used to describe a very exciting match, usually with lots of goals and action. It can also be used to describe an upcoming match – fans are really looking forward to the game between two big teams, two rivals or two teams in form. Another meaning of this word in football is to describe a great goal, so for example, the player scored a cracker just before full-time to seal the victory.- Example: The game between Manchester City and Manchester United was an end-to-end cracker as both teams went for victory.
