After having been thrashed by Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates stadium, Liverpool will be looking for revenge in the upcoming Carling Cup quarter final on the 19th of December and the FA cup third round in January 2007 – both at Anfield. Of course, the The Reds are also hosting Arsenal in the Premier League at Anfield In January. Here’s hoping for a hatrick of wins.

In other news, a takeover bid for Liverpool FC seems to be nearing completion. A consortium from Dubai has approached the club with a A£450 million offer, with money for a new 60,000 seater stadium. While money would be welcome, let’s hope that the heart of the club isn’t destroyed with a move to a soul-less ground (like Arsenal’s), and neutral supporters are not turned off the team (as happened with Chelsea) because of a focus on money.

Meanwhile, it’s a relief to have finally won a game away from home: with the added bonus of a hatful of goals. I think that leaves Tottenham with the worst away form in the premier League.

  • kenji,
Thanks for the support for Liverpool. Oh, I hope they beat Arsenal! they need to beat the big teams – sadly they’ve lost to all three away from home.

I hope you’re right about Liverpool after they get bought. The money would be nice, but I hope they don’t waste it on the first big name (usually past their peak) that they see.

It would be nice to think that a lot of money would go into developing youngsters.

  • I agree Liverpool will beat Arsenal in the two cups but not in the League.
By the way, who is the man in the picture? A new transfer?
