So says Rafa. And Liverpool do have a poor record against their main rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U, winning only two out of 14 under Benitez. the good news is, those two victories were against Arsenal. With Liverpool being drawn against Arsenal in the Carling Cup, it looks like Liverpool’s season could be shaped by their results against the Londoners. Tonight is the time to play with passion against an Arsenal team, who are still finding their feet in their new stadium. If Liverpool can score first, quieten the crowd, and force Arsenal to chase the game, they will win. Benitez recognises Arsenal’s threat however –
“When they play well, I like to see how Arsenal play…”
But adds,
“…but not as much as I enjoy watching my own team play well.”
Let’s hope Liverpool deliver tonight in what should be a classic.
