  • IF!!!…Oz can get past the Thais it does make for a bit of a grudge match quarter-final in Hanoi and that could be a virtual final. However, an Iran game would likely follow soon after and we all know the “the gigantic choke” history there…

  • Sam, thanks for the comments and apologies to all Indonesian football fans out there for my forgetfulness. Can Indonesia qualify for the next round?

JohnS, is it too late for Australia to return to Oceania ;)?
However, if they beat the hosts in Bangkok on Monday I reckon they can still win the competition outright.

  • Hello Sam

This morning I have no bloody idea why Australia are in…

Fifa thought we were up to it…

  • Great podcast and good to hear something about the Asian Cup. A couple of comments.
    1. There are 4 countries hosting the competition not three, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia!

    2. Why are Australia taking part, are they now part of Asia?

  • Hi Ana,
congratulations on the win against Uruguay – it sounded like a hard game. What is the reaction like in Brazil?
Zico has been replaced as Japanee coach by Osim who is Bosnian and much like Dunga is very tough indeed!

  • Hi, the podcast was funny and I loved listening to the Japanese narration. I wish Japan good luck, I remember their performance at the World Cup (is Zico still coaching them?)
Yep, it wasn’t easy for Brazil alright! Can’t wait for the final.
