The good, the bad and the ugly – our weekly review of football: week 15

The Good

Premier League table

  • Aston Villa’s new signings, John Carew and Ashley Young both score in their first week at the club. Carew’s goal video
  • It was good for Valencia as none of their rivals won and they beat Atletico Madrid 3-1 video
  • In Germany, Schalke had a good week as Bayern lost and they beat close rival Werder Bremen to go three points clear at the top. video

The Bad

The Ugly

  • Thailand walked off the pitch after first leg penalty decision went against them against Singapore who went on to win the ASEAN Cup video
