The right balance

Rafa Benitez believes Liverpool have finally found the right balance between defence and attack, and it’s difficult to argue with him. Liverpool have scored eleven goals in the last three games and let in none. That certainly is a contrast with the beginning of the season, when goals were hard to come by and the defence, a strength last year, was looking fragile. The threat that Bellamy’s speed brings was certainly a factor in the game against Charlton, and the team don’t seem to be missing the strength and dynamism of Sissoko in the middle of the field. The squad has a lot more depth this season, which may mean that the second half will see Liverpool finish strongly. And with Chelsea and Man United yet to visit Anfield in ‘six-pointer’ games, we may yet see Liverpool finish in the top two.

Next up is a struggling Watford side at Anfield. Another 4-0 victory?

  • Liverpool are looking very good. I think they will finish in the top two easily. Manchester United are looking fragile. Chelsea are the ones to beat.
