This week’s English for football phrase is ‘back to back victories‘, which is used when a team wins two games in a row. Another way of saying this is ‘consecutive victories‘ or ‘two wins on the bounce‘, as well as ‘two victories in a row‘. The phrase can be used toA  describe consecutive losses and draws, too: for example, back to back defeats.

  • Example: Back to back defeats saw the leaders fall to 4th place.
  • Example: West Brom buoyed by back to back victories (Headline in Tribal Football)
