When a team is so much stronger than the rest of the league we say that they are dominant – they have dominated the rest of the league. If they go on to easily win the league title then we can say that they have walked the title – they have walked it. The fact that this victory was so easy suggests the team did not really have to run too much to win it – they walked it. The 2019-20 Premier League season looks very much like Liverpool will win their first title in 30 years and after 25 matches they are an incredible 22 points clear of second place Manchester City – the Reds are clearly walking the league, they are dominating the league so much they are almost certain to win.
Example: PSG walked the Ligue 1 title in 2016 – they finished 31 points ahead of runners-up Lyon.
